Dunno if this is the right place for this, but . . .
I have what has to be the craziest orchid in existence !
It gets watered as & when I remember (I'm away a lot of the time)
It is lop-sided & ugly for about 6 Months of the year, with roots sticking out in all directions (obviously in a desperate search for water !!)
But when it flowers (which it does without fail, every year) it does so in a spectacular manner, with an abundance of blooms - normally around 35 - 50 heads which last for the next 6 months !
Trouble is, I think it needs re-potting & I'm a bit worried about doing it, as I don't want to "upset" it !
may depend on what type you have but most like to be fairly pot bound and roots coming over the sides of the pot is very normal. You will also need an Orchid compost which is mostly bark. Do it when the plant is dormant (after it has finished flowering and goes into a rest period).
