Hi, I have a 12 year old traditional wall mounted Potterton boiler. The boiler heat settings go from 0 - 6 but anything above 3 and the boiled cuts within an hour, needing to have the reset button pressed before it will restart. Is this problem likely to be due to a faulty thermostat or a furred up boiler or ...?   Thanks,  Alan.

This sounds more like an installation problem.Sounds like a Potterton Profile incorrectly piped up or with it's control themostats not configured as per the instructions.
Or incorrectly wired up.
