My garage roof is leaking badly and I would like it replaced. However I think the existing roof is corrugated asbestos!!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is a very specialist job to remove, does anyone have the faintest idea how much this is likely to cost me. It is a normal sized garage. Thanks, Jane

My husband is a contracts manager for an asbestos removal firm. He said if it is asbestos cement (i.e. gray corrugated roof sheets) this does not require an asbestos contractor to remove it however it will still require disposing of properly. Some Council tips have as asbestos facility and if you can transport it there yourself, they will take it free of charge. There are guidelines on the HSE website. Hope this helps. If you are in the North West and ask a contractor to do it, they will charge you in the region of 400-600 to remove it and dispose of it.

Hi minniemoo Thanks for that it is grey and in sheets so that doesn't sound too bad does it. I shall have to get someone in to look at it. I am in East Anglia. I wonder if anyone can tell me once I have had it removed how much a new roof will cost, approximately. Thanks again for taking the time to answer minni x
