Blue fluorescent lighting
5 Answers
I have just been in the toilets in Streatham Common station and they had two or more pairs of short blue fluorescent bulbs, that made the whole room look like the fairy canyon. I've searched around and found these http://www.lightbulbs-direct.com/product/2603/ f18w-67-t8-2ft-blue-fluorescent-tube/
but wouldn't want to risk getting the wrong item, so if anyone's seen these I visited today or BR are using them in others and know, (or you work for them?), what bulbs as in there as I'd like one in my bathroom.

I was down in Cornwall a while ago and visited a public ladies loo at about 5pm... to be greeted by a blue light... when I asked my mates why I was told it was so that the drug users couldn't find their veins to inject themselves....
You might want to rethink your *fairy canyon* concept, David :(

I always know I'll be educated when I come here, I hadn't a clue that was the reason but t was still a wonderful effect and colour, and now know it should be fairly easy to get one for my upstairs loo. I've always been a hippy and a psychedelic light in the carsey is right up my street whatever the official reason!
Thanks Chuck, I saw that as well but wasn't sure if my link had a sleeve (I can probably sort one of those out for the one I have and keep the original one) or uses a technology currently unknown to me.
Neon adverts have coloured bulbs, and I've got one on my room with white tubes that are different colours when lit but don't know how they would work.
