grape vine

Can I grow a grape vine in a large pot? I have the ideal site but no soil there - just patio. Anyone done this?

I haven't done this outside but I have a grapevine that produces grapes and grows very successfully year after year in a pot in my conservatory.

Yes it should be ok. We once grew a vine in a pot and trailed it against the wall of the house. From memory think hubby said they need some protection which was why he trailed it up the wall. Once established I think they are quite hardy
