Removing Ink

Any suggestions on how to remove a large patch of ballpoint pen ink from a school skirt? My daughter's pen leaked and am not sure how to get it out, havent tried washing it yet because I need to know what to use. Just as well kids are off school for couple of weeks!

My Mum always uses a Stain Devils or Dylon stain remover that's specifically for removing ink (she draws on her uniform a lot!).

yup, the special stain devils from Tesco (other supermarkets stock it too, thats just where I get mine)
