Velux blinds

I have two velux windows at the top of my house. My house was built in 2003 and is in a conservation area, the casement of these windows is metal.
A local shop has told me that I can only have blinds for these windows in navy blue or cream, neither of which I want.
Is there any way that the Velux blinds in the normal range offered could be fitted?

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have but the promblem seems to be that if your windows have the metal casement as opposed to the wooden the choice of blind is incredibly limited.

Maybe your local shop just wants to make a sale. Double check by telephoning Velux direct - I have wooden casements in two Velux windows, and bought lovely blinds from them. Worth a phone call.

I would also check out the Planning Department of your Local Authority. Whilst I can understand the need for regulations regarding the external appearance of a property in a conservation area I find it difficult to believe that interiors are similarly constrained, especially with regard to window dressings.

Whoever, thank you for that. The problem is not with the local authority, it is that in a conservation area Velux windows are fitted in a metal casement and Velux blinds which fit these casements are only available in navy blue or cream.
