Our bed sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are all white and get washed regularly once a week at 40 degrees along with the instructions on the labels.
However they have started to not come up as bright white any more. Is there a product that i could bung in my wash to brighten it a bit?
You used to be able to buy a 'blue bag' that went in with your whites. It returned them to bright white. I don't know if it's still available though.
Muff is correct, sunshine is the best thing as it bleaches the sheets. (Much nicer to have fresh smelling washing as well).
I only ever wash whites with whites, the bed linen is enough to make up one load and it is all completely white.
I don't like drying my bed clothes outside as I suffer from terrible hay fever and during this nice weather people around me all seem to be cutting their lawns!
I'll try the vanish things and when the HF season is over I'll try drying outside!
I've always been a believer in the 90 degree hot wash for my whites with a splash of bleach and all my towels duvet/sheet/pillowcases are still a lovely brilliant white after 3/4 years..
They are 100% egyption cotton, I don't want to put them on as high a wash as that as the last ones I had (from a different shop) shrank. I would rather go by the washing instructions just in case
But I'll try the vanish products mentioned above, that's the kind of thing I was looking for!
