Diseased blackcurrants
4 Answers
I have some new blackcurrant bushes growing against a wall. Up until now they have looked fine but now that the currants are beginning to ripen, they are turning brown and wrinkly, rather like a raisin, over half of the berry. Any ideas what is causing this and is there a remedy? Thanks in advance.

It may not be a diisease but simply a lack of moisture in the ground. However if they are all turning brown; it's a bit too late to rectify matters for this year; but a good watering should keep the bushes alive to crop next year.
