approx how much to lower and point a chimmney and new flashings -just need a rough guide

how bigs the chimney? in other words how long is a peice of string.

thankyou for your reply.i asked for a rough guide on a price - i only need a foot taking off the chimmney and the chimmney stack is about two foot square and the height is about three feet.the reason i asked for a rough guide to a price is because one builder qouted �500 and the second builder qouted �1500 ! for exactly the same job! cowboys come to mind.

I would have thought the �500 was much nearer the mark but say �750 just to be sure....make sure the company that you do get to do it is reputable though as a cowboy mucking about on your roof could well be a disaaster waiting to happen.

I have a roofer who is removing the whole chimney down to the roof line (chimney is about 2ft square) for �280. I then asked him how much extra to take it right down to the floor of the loft and he wants �390.00. That seemed reasonable to me.
