hello
can anyone help me please? I do not know much about gardening , can anyone help me about weeds in lawn. the lawn is in a poor condition with clover and another weed ( I don't know what it is called but it has a small mauve flower , which spreads everywhere) it seems to be in several gardens near me too. would anyone recommend " feed and weed" or miracle gro? Something easy please. thankyou.

Easiest way to keep weeds down is to mow regularly esp this time of year once a week at least. Combine this with a weed and feed granule supplement once a month. In spring and autumn rake out any dead moss with a lawn rake (the weed & feed will offer instructions on this) .
One other thing you can do to help your lawn is to aerate it with a garden fork in spring and once more in the autumn. This allows small drain holes to be opened up in the soil some gardeners then sweep lawn sand into the holes, again improving drainage esp if your soil is clay based. Obviously you needn't do this if your soil is sandy anyway.
