We have had a Dyson dco1 for 10 years now,and never a problem.
Sorry,but that doesn't really hep you,does it?
Uprights too heavy & prefer cylinders.....this is the best with strong suction, easy clean filter etc. no bags

I run an 8 bedroom guesthouse and vaccum every day and swear by Dysons. I have had 3 models and now still use the DC07 with hepa filters etc. I would highly recommend that model if they still make it or the equivelent.
why do you need opinions on Dyson if you are buying a Hoover???????????????/
Having disliked using the earlier Dysons that my daughter had, I've now bought one of the ball versions, which i do like, except for the long hose. I find it too stiff and inflexible, but I keep this machine downstairs, and another (Sebo) upstairs. I don't like cylinders, and still have an old Electrolux (about 44 years old) which we keep for cleaning out the car (occasionally!!)

The Dyson I have is the DC25, and I'd be happy to recommend it if you're not tall. (I'm 5'5"). The Sebo is very good, but the handle is too long for me and makes my shoulders ache.
I've had my Dyson for years - no problems and it still works a treat.. My daughter seems to buy other makes on a yearly basis...
I'm on my 2nd Dyson and wouldn't be without it.
(The first one had a terminal accident when I fell down the stairs with it. I broke my leg at the same time, grrr!)
Just got a DC18 in Febraury and its wonderful this is s lighter model and needs emptying more often never had a Dyson before but would not be without it and I do not like housework

Thank you for your replies it seems you get what you pay for buy cheap you get cheap and it doesn't last. No Knowledge you may have misunderstood me I didn't mean I was buying a Hoover.I should have said cleaner.
hi wendille we have used dysons for 10 years or more and we thought they were the bees knees but are not so sure now. we have a friend with a miele which we loaned and were impressed with.also another friend who cleans for a living has bought a commercial henry which she said lifts the carpet
on the subject of you get what you pay for ,none of the dysons are cheap, are they?
I `d give Dyson 10/10. Ours have lasted since they first came out and is still giving excellent service. Just remember to change the filters every 3months.
