can anyone help me?
a severe nose bleed means my beautiful bedroom carpet is now badly stained.
does anyone have any ideas on how to remove?

Remove your nose ?? that's a bit severe
Sponge it with lots and lots of cold water

thank you ladyalex.......already tried that with no great result..but I'll have another go...

Phizzy......you bad child.... go to the naughty step...
wet the area and cover it with salt. when the salt has soaked it up scrape it up, keep doing that till it goes a bit of a long job but it has worked for me.
I know this is disgusting, but your own saliva will break up a blood stain very well. A woman I used to work with taught me this years ago. If the spots are large though, it would be difficult.
you could try a weak solution of biological washing powder in luke warm water. patch test a hidden bit first and be prepared to do quite a bit of rinsing afterwards to get the detergent out
PS that saliva thing is true. In the age when all ladies could sew, my Mum (who had been a Court dressmaker) taught m this to get blood out of sewing if you prick your finger in a pin or needle. You chew a short length of white sewing cotton and dab it on the bloodspot
Perrier is very good on stains on carpets.
