Sorry to hear of your problem - a dehumidifier would help but remember you have to have some heating in the room so that the water can evaporate, and then the dehumidifier would collect the evaporated water. Another thing, if you have an electric cleaner like a vax carpet shampooer, you could suck most of the water out of the carpets. After you have done this with the dehumidifier, and the cleaner if you can get hold of one, then open the windows and doors and get as much fresh air into the room as possible. When you think it has dried out it might be best to turn a bit of the carpet back to check that things are O.K. underneath. Hope this helps. Someone out there might have better ideas.
