Flooded Room
40 Answers
I have inadvertantly flooded my room, the carpet is soaking. I've done my best to soak up some of it with towels and sheets etc.. I guess all that's left to do is open the window and wait for it to dry? Any suggestions on speeding that up? Would a de-humidifier help and where would I get one of those?

Another thing, if you have an electric cleaner like a vax carpet shampooer, you could suck most of the water out of the carpets. After you have done this with the dehumidifier, and the cleaner if you can get hold of one, then open the windows and doors and get as much fresh air into the room as possible. When you think it has dried out it might be best to turn a bit of the carpet back to check that things are O.K. underneath. Hope this helps. Someone out there might have better ideas. Best of luck to you.

Yeah... I just don't want to get in to trouble... Or pay for it! But considering the advice I'm being given I'd have to go buy that vax thingy and a de-humidifier to make it right myself so I'll be paying for it anyway!
I think I'll be something fatty and deep fried for lunch... :c(

Ok, I will... They're going to hate me. So far since moving here I've managed to lock myself out and walk around a ledge to get back in my room (I live on fifth floor and it was a sunday), locked myself out while in the shower and had to go downstairs wrapped in a towel to get back in and now I've flooded the place...Sigh... I don't think I have a low cut enough top to wear when confessing this. Or big enough boobs for that matter...
Right... I'm going to go confess.

Effing chuckle brothers! ;0) (Looks just like me actually).
So spot of luck... I bumped in to some maintenance guys as I was going downstairs and joked with them about having a de-humidifier... Turns out they have a water hoover! Anyway, one of them is hoovering my room as I type despite my protests that I can do it! I actually feel quite bad that he's doing it but at least it's getting done.
And yes.. I know I'm a spoilt brat!
