I've decided to re-decorate the guest room and would like some suggestions. It's quite a large room on two levels. It's south-facing and has a largish window, the carpet is dark green and the furniture is antique pine. At the moment the walls are sponged lilac so want to change them and don't want yellow as that attracts insects... Hope someone's got some inspiration.

A pale pink or peach go well with dark green, with some accessories in a slightly darker shade of your chosen colour - e.g. on lampshades, rugs, bed linen, flowers, etc.

Thanks ice-maiden. Peach was a colour I was thinking of too, but it's just getting that right shade of peach; not orangey, not a dirty yellow not a beigey pink! I'll have a few practises to get the right shade. Thanks again.
