Dishwasher jargon help please

This is probably an obvious answer but what is the difference between an 'integrated' dishwasher and a 'semi-integrated' one? Ours (built-in) has broken and needs to be replaced. It was put in before we moved in and the door is flush/covered with the kitchen units but the control panel at the top is always visible. Is this semi-integrated? Is it a pain to find a replacement that fits in the hole or are they all standard? TIA
