We've got a mat in front of the fire in the living room but one end has now curled up in itself like you would roll up a newspaper, and it has become a trip hazard. Is there any way to straighten it out again as it is a very good strong mat, other than that. Tried ironing it out one day, to no avail.

Turn it over for a while.
Roll it up in the oppsosite direction with the curled end innermost & leave it in a warm room for a while which should flatten it out. Then stick it down to stop it curling again - You can buy double sided sticky tape for rugs from diy stores.
Can you use that double sided sticky tape to stick rugs to carpets Robinia? (without permanently marking the carpet)

Good afternoon by the way x
Hi Lottie, well it says it's ok on this one

Don't shoot the messenger if it 'waxes' your best Axminster & you get bald tracks! :o)
Looks OK. Best Axminster with two dogs and a cat (you must be kidding)? I bought a special mat that you put between rug and carpet and it sort of works but the rug still keeps kinking. Might give that tape a try. Thanks x
If you look at the following website, they have 'gripper' that allows you to fix one carpet to another without any damage. The product number is 300.
