house sale

many thanks to all those who answered my previous query on neighbour disputes. Very helpful. However with conflicting advice we have decided to let prospective buyers know of the dispute, but to emphasise that the problem no longer exists.Because the conifer was in our garden and had reached a height of 40foot we feel that it may be interpreted that we were the ones at fault. We are quite happy for people to think this way as we suppose it can be seen from two different angles.Does this seem the right way to go?

If I had had a dispute with a neighbour and he was selling his house the last thing I would do is mention anything to anybody viewing as I would see it as a good way to get rid of the neighbour. When people come looking at a house they are looking for reasons not to buy giving them one is the last thing I would do. We all know how things can get out of hand and I'm sure you have nothing to be ashamed about or want to hide but better to say nothing unless prompted and even then something along the lines of "Oh we don't see the neighbours much here, there was a little bit of sillyness about the conifers but its all sorted now". Essentially say nothing unless prompted and what you do say should be overly positive.
