Leaking ceramic vase
5 Answers
A small amount of water has started to seep through the base of a white ceramic vase but there don't appear to be any cracks in it. Is there any kind of sealant which will prevent the leakage before my furniture gets damaged?

Give the inside of the vase a good coat of gloss paint, clean and dry it first then paint it inside. That should seal the leak.

Yes, Eddie's suggestion should work. However if you can't get a paint-brush down the bottom inside, an alternative suggestion would be to mix a 50% solution of PVA glue with water, pour it into the pot, let it soak into the crack, tip out the rest, then let it dry thoroughly in an airing cupboard for a day or so. PVA, once dried, is impervious to water.
