Washing verticle blinds

We have loads of verticle blinds in our house and they need a wash.....any suggestions ?

We were told to take them down, roll them up and secure with an elastic band then put in a pillow case in the washing machine ?

Any help will be most appreciated

Depends what they are made out off,you could remove and steep in the bath,rinse well and drip dry

hammerman-- i do as you have been told.unhook each one and roll up, band round , into a pillow case, about 8/9 rolls at a time, tie top of case so they don,t escape , short warm wash , do not spin.when done i put them end on the draining board and after an hour or so hang up again . i let them dry fully at the window.Good luck.
