Please help single mum to fix her gas hob - hungry children alert!!

Hello all. I have a cannon oakley gas cooker that has been working fine. After a good clean, the hob has stopped working? The ignition works fine and I can see the sparks - but there is no gas going to the burners. Oven and grill working fine. Have removed the enamel plates and silver seats and replaced straight but no change. Please help me! Many thanks.

Water has probably gotten into the tiny holes where the flames comes out. Give it a while to dry out, it should then work.

After cleaning my gas hob I ignite all the burners using a match to dry them out

Blow the water out of the holes on the ring and it should work fine.

Thank you for your answers - i will attempt to dry. When i remove the enamel plates and silver rests, i am left with a silver lined square recess with a brass nut that appears to have a small hole in the centre - is this where water may have ingressed? Or do i need to look closer to the little white ignitor thingies? :-/ Many thanks - pizza for tea :-)

The lid / hob cover ,when it is down ,acts as a cut-off for the gas supply to the hob. It is possible that the valve at the rear of the cooker has stuck in the off position.
Try lifting the lid fully, then lowering it down to the hob a few times.
If this doesn't work, you will need the services of a Gas safe registered engineer.

the small brass nuts with the holes in the centre are the injectors where the gas flows thru to the burners, try drying them out with a hair dryer although if it was just water in there i would have expected the gas to have blown the water out, perhaps the cleaning has flushed dirt and grease down the holes, you could try unblocking them with a fine needle but be careful you don't snap it off in the injector.

pilot light could be right about the safety gas valve being stuck, presuming your cooker has a lid of course?
