i am thinking of replacing my old shed ,but there is a bedding patch of soil against my old shed. When i buy my new one I wanted it in the same place, but in the past the wood has rotted at the side where the soil touches it.Is there any suggestions as to what to put against the soil to protect the wood?I was thinking of putting a row of breeze blocks up.Any suggestions most welcome thanks.

dig the soil away
Use DPM ... you can buy a length from builders merchants. (Damp Proof Membrane. Put some thin battens against shed wall, and then DPM, then backfill.
Optionally, you can use some butyl pond liner!
I pinned some old compost bags against mine and held them up with a bank of gravel.I of course gave the shed an extra couple of soakings with wood preserver first along the bottom 3 planks.
