I have noticed a few ants in the kitchen and am keen to get rid of them before the problem gets worse. Any ideas how to treat this? Thanks

Thery say chalk a line and they will not cross it
go to a hardware store and get an ant box these have a small amount of poison in them and the ants take it back to the nest with them - talc also works if you can see where they are coming in from
find out where they are getting in
use a spray like "ant stop" in the area they are getting in and spray around the outside of the entrance.
keep the floor clear of crumbs of food and drink
They don't like cinamon, I sprinkled it and they went away.
they do poodi, I have tried it, doesnt work..
talc definitely works
i buy the powder i saw some the other day and they were all gone next morning ....does talk work peri that would be cheaper and less harmful than that ant killer i buy will remember that for next time
the only thing is cherry if you have tiles that are porous it can leave a stain
talc, flour, anything powdery, they dont like walking in it
Nippon is very good so is garlic
thanks peri,4get ,i had loads the year i moved here and bought all the stuff to kill them when i mentioned it to the lassie who i did a swap with she told me she was infested with the the year before ,so went went round the hole house every bit lol found the nest under my stairs and finally got rid of them it took me months and was very expensive i had told my housing about it but it was going to take them weeks just to come out and check the problem ,so scarlet have a check around the house and don't leave out any bits good luck x
we spent hours watching them last year, to establish how they were getting in - they were driving me mad! but once we found them, loads of ant killer powder down, and they were no longer a problem!
There's a spray called Deathlac which I've found to be very good, just spray a 6in band round the holes and forget about them. they carry it into the nest and thats the end for the nest,it remains effective for about 6m and can be used indoors or out
If you still get `em`, try `White` vinegar full strength sprayed around the area.
