Ants !!

Our house is riddled with them along with the majority of the town if the Ironmongers was anything to go by.(shelves and shelevs of ant killers)

I bought 2 devices where you press down the centre and pop the gel and then put lid back on.

However how can I source the nest as its a pointless exercise at the moment moving those things around.

Any help would be very appreciated

Are they the kind where the ants are supposed to eat the gel?
just put them where you see the ants in any quantity, they will eat the gel and carry some back to the nest

PS it takes them a while to get used to the new thing and try the food, so once placed don't move them

O thanks for that woofgang.Just checked the bedroom not an ant to be seen but kitchen is still lively lets say and thats where I have been moving the thing about .I'll leave well alone now !

Dris, talcum powder every time. Around the doors, windows, any holes around radiators etc. Anywhere they get into the rooms, it would be hard to find the source if they are indoors. Try talc outside the window sills as well. They hate talcum powder and I think it probably kills them, but they do smell nice ... good luck

Also salt Dris - they hate salt.

I have'nt got them indoors - but have noticed in the garden there are hundred's of the little buggers.

Apparently they also hate cucumber... esp. the peel...

Im thinking a mix of talc and salt would be a good idea so i'll give that a try x

I'm looking for a recipe that uses salted, talced cucumber in a tempura batter - the high-fat diet should put paid to the little blighters!

To find where they are coming from put some jam on the floor at night then get up in the early hours and you will see a trail of ants going to the jam and a trail going back to the nest. Block their entrance with silicon or bath sealant. You will probably have to do this several times before you get rid of them.
