I have just planted my camillia which was in a pot at the back of my garden to the front garden. I have just read that they shouldn't be planted where the early morning sun goes. Consequently , as we have had some gorgeous weather its not looking as healthy as when it was in a pot at the back of the garden. My question is should I put it back in a pot and re locate it to the back. I should hate to loose it

they generally like a bit of shade rather than full sun although full sun for short periods won't hurt in my experience. full early morning sun can cause frosted flowers to brown off more than if they had thawed slowly a shadier position.
they do prefer shadier areas - but also you need the right soil.. they are lime hating plants - so need ericaceous compost around their roots too....

We have a huge camellia tree - which has survived despite being in sunlight.. though the leaves a re bit yellowy so I had to feed it recently with seaweed mixture from garden centre...

Best to move it if it doesnt look happy - and if it dies - a reputable garden centre should offer a replacement!
