On all medicine bottles, bandages lint etc the letters BP follow the name... ie aspirin BP. what does the BP stand for??

BP stands for British Pharmacopoeia; that word comes from the Greek meaning drug maker. The word is also defined as a book containing list of drugs and other medical substances or preparations with instructions on how to make them.
So I guess it's a chemists recipe book. BP drugs like aspirin are generally cheaper than branded makes
