House names

Have you given, or already have, a house with a strange name? Mine is called 'Elegant Chaos', I got a name plaque made up for it at a garden centre and stuck it by the front door. Very tasteful it is too!

I knew smeone who bought a house called "Lodores". He assumed the name was some corruption of Dolores until he viewed the property and found it was a 17th century cottage and it had the lowest doors he had ever seen!

A neighbour of hours had a house called "Nota Bene". It turned out that this accurately described their bank balance after fundng the purchase - not a bean!

There's a house near Cradley on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border known as 'The Quiet Woman'. I wonder if she is?

I swear that this is true...a retired GP used to live in a house called Kilmany in a town I once lived in.
