Romsey is quite a quiet little town quite near to the New Forest and Southampton and it`s got a large estate called Broadlands where Lord Mountbatten lived before he was murdered by the IRA during the days of conflict. I`m sure you will be very happy there. Why nor Google Romsey for more info.
Depending on where you want to live there is also a big council estate there.

The houses can be expensive and the town centre is relativly large for the six=ze of town. There are a couple of independant shops but mostly the usual suspects but no big department stores. The car park behind the supermarket (I can't remember if it is Waitrose or or Summerfield) is relativly cheap.

Overall a nice place to go. For me it is a place to visit rather than live but I do know a couple of people that live there. One is way rich and loves it and one is retired and loves it.
