I've noticed there doesn't seem to be any ants around this year. I've not had any in my house or outside in thhe yard. Has this got anything to do with the bad winter we've just had? Thanks in anticipation :)

I expect they are busy in their nests building up to the great evacuation when all the flyers leave to mate on the wing, but they wait until the temperature/humidity is just right to give them `lift`. Try looking under rocks of dustbins, we have plenty if you want some.
The rest are with me. everywhere this year inside and out
i have more this year than I have ever seen
We've got some in the garden, I noticed them this evening when I was weeding. Normal black ants. We always get a bunch of flying ants later in the year too, when the weather is just right for them, they come out from under the concrete steps.
I've had some in the house but hopefully I've seen them off... About the same amount in the garden as usual I'd say.
The ones that aren't with Prudie are here. I am loused out with the wretched things.
I must be having a lucky year too! Normally my garden is over run with red ants but this year none!!! I'm loving it!
