Does anyone know where I can buy pure white granite(?) with little flecks in that sparkle in the light. I saw it somewhere but can't remember the store. It looked horribly expensive and I don't know how practical it is for a kitchen worktop.

the sparkly bits are mica I think. Perhpas it was marble you saw? have to tried looking for this?

We have a kitchen worktop made from "Kashmir White" granite.  It looks fab, is very durable and easy to clean.  You can put burning hot plans staright on, without fear of damage.

We aslo had grooves cut in it next to the sink, so it acts as a permanant draining board.

My wife works in the kitchen industry so we got ours from a trade only company.

However, this company;

do Kashmir White and a whole load of other types.  I would expect to pay between 1500 and 3000 for a kitchen.

It is extravagant, but I reckon it's worth it as it'll last for years.

Good luck.
