My driveway is edge with a line of flagstones and along this edge the tarmac is sinking and lifting the flagstones up, I want to level the flagstones again and then lay more tarmac over the existing tarmac, compacting it as well. What I would like to know is whats the best was to do it and what raw materials I will need. Many thanks in advance.

You would need to lay the new tarmac to a significant depth. If you haven't got this depth (probably about 80mm), then the old stuff would have to be removed first.

The question is why is the old tarmac sinking? You may need some proper hardcore base underneath and then put new tarmac on top. Putting tarmac on top of tarmac will not stop the problem of a sinking driveway
