Barbecue in front garden

What is your opinion on barbecues being held in the front garden? Does anyone think it is ill advisable on safety concerns?
I have watched my new neighbours put a barbecue right by their front hedge, which not only is a fire hazard as the hedge connects many gardens and shrubbery, including mine, but also it's inches from a public throroughfare where people pass by.
The barbecue is over now but should I voice my concerns to these neighbours if they try this again?
