Problem with Rehau Pulse Sprinkler

I have problem in setting up my Rehau pulse sprinkler. I have a water pressure of 4.1 bar (60 psi) but the spray head does not turn automatically, only manually. Any ideas?

Notice that when you grasp the lower part and tug upwards on the upper part it moves, but only slightly? It get corrosion, dirt, etc., in that small area. If you will use a good lubricant like WD 40 and squirt it generously in that area it should help tremendously.
Secondly,sometimes a small piece of dirt or grass or even algae growing on the inside feeder assembly breaks loose and gets stuck in the small opening where the sprayed water comes out. If you can find the right size wrench (here in the U.S. it's 3/8") the nozzle is fairly easy to unscrew and clean. Careful, there's a small white plastic screen device just inside... don't lose that...

Thanks for the tip - I will bear it mind for future ref. However, the sprayer is new, so there is unlikely to be any obstruction just yet. I have managed to achieve a clockwise spray for 1/4 and 1/2 circle but it won't rotate anticlockwise automaically. Do you know what controls this?

Sure... (at least on U.S. similar models)... it's the little lever that strikes the stops at the bottom of the revolving head. Sometimes the spring (it's a coil) that pulls the head back after being struck by the stream of water pulls out of one of it's little holes. Kinda hard to paint the word picture for you. Another thing, if it is new as you describe, the paint that's applied during and after manufacture could have partieally blocked the water hole. I'd run a small screwdriver (I use an icepick) into the hole to make sure it's clear... All else fails, take it back to the supplier. They really are pretty fool proof (the sprinkler, not the supplier)...

I'm not sure but the small reversing lever may originally have been operating on the wrong side of the stops. Anyway, I gave it a couple of shots of WD40, turned up the mains water pressure a bit and hey presto! Many thanks for your help.
