xpelair - outside cover banging
6 Answers
I've got a new xpelair with a circular air vent through the bricks to the outside. The plastic cover fitted on the outside wall is designed to keep dust, birds and insects out, but when the weather is windy, the plastic flaps make a loud banging noise as they open and close. Is it possible to fit anything on the outside of that cover to act as a wind break? I've had a search on-line, but I can't find anything.

Following on from what Williwonker said, I reckon that a strip of the sponge rubber draft excluder material would stop the noise if it was stuck on the outer face of all the flaps so that it supported the bottom edge of the flap above it. In this position on the top of the flap it wouldn't interfere with the air flow or collect any excess dust.
