Sunflowers
10 Answers
I have grown sunflowers for the first time, quite successfully (?), and now want to use the seeds for the birds. My question is, should I leave the seeds in the flower heads for the birds to serve themselves or, should I remove the seeds myself and put out on the bird table ? P !!!!!!

No the old plant just dies when finished, so chop it up into little pieces and either put it in the councils green waste bin or compost it. If you wait until the winter the seed will be nice and dry if kept in a shed and then put it out for the birds to peck at away from cats.
