would you have to rotovate the soil when you remove old turf before laying new turf

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If by removing the old turf you do not have a firm level surface on which to place the new turf then rotovating the ground might be an idea but personally I would hire a lawn stripper from HSS and that way the gound underneath will be level. Remember your grass will only grow as well as the soil underneath it. Do make sure the soil is firmed well before laying any new turf. As a general guide when laying new turf 2/3rds of your time should be spend in preparing the ground the other 1/3rd actually laying .
