Finishing Artex Coxing

I have just installed Artex Plaster coving and was looking for advice to finishing. My preference leans towards some type of bleaching / washing agent as apposed to painting. My test piece for painting after two coats looses the sharp definition of the original Artex which I wish to maintain while applying an agent to help blend the filler used for the drillholes. Thx Tom
