Personalised Garden gift for my sister any ideas?
17 Answers
It's my sister's 50th birthday next month. I'm looking for a special pressy for her.
Her main hobbies are gardening and bell ringing, she also loves the Scilly Isles, her and her hubby go there for their hols every year.
I'd like to find something like a garden pot that could be personalised in some way. I've found one place that puts black lettering on the pot, but it made it look a bit funerial. I've been looking for a place that would put a message or symbol on the pot made out of clay if poss. Does anyone know of a place who would do this. I found one place but they wanted £200 for quite a modest pot.
Failing that, any other suggestions would be wonderful. Thank you all.

But what about a bird feeder you can get some lovely multi level ones now that stake in the ground she can stake it where ever she likes and can see it for example from her kitchen window. like this one below but you could get one for as little as £15 from your local garden centre and upwards so you could get lots of different feeds to place on it.

Thanks for the answers so far. Sadly her garden's pocket handkerchief sized so she doesn't really need to call hubby in from the garden. The bird feeder is also too big for the garden too, although great for my mum and dad who have a bigger garden. I forgot to say, she likes to paint as well, mostly country scenes and animals. I think I thought the pot would be a good idea because I wondered if I could get one that would be a special reminder of her birthday. I guess I just don't have enough money to do the job properly though. I shall keep looking. Any other ideas would be very gratefully received. Thank you.
I know its not personalised but this would be a lovely thought for her to receive on her actual birthday -lots of links:

and what about this for them :

Now that would be a lovely gift she would be able to always have on show.
Hope the ideas have helped :)

Some lovely ideas there. Unfortunately she was given an engraved vase recently and she actually sent me pinks from the Scilly Isles for my birthday. But they're lovely ideas and hopefully will be helping other folk in the same position as me. Thank you all so much. In these days of technology, the little thoughtful handmade gifts are a thing of the past I think.
She actually does paintings herself. Gosh this is so tricky. I was originally thinking of an engraved locket, but she always wears a little gold cross, so that's out. I've a friend who's 50 soon, and she's getting £50 of vouchers, easy. But you feel you can't do that with a family member. So I'll spend a few evenings digging around on the web. Maybe I'll come up with something. I wonder if I can get a plant that has some kind of name that would link in. Because it's in November I'm going to be a bit limited I suppose. I
we gave a gardener friend of ours a spade which we'd had engraved with his name and birthday, for his 50th. he was delighted but the only trouble is he won't use it and keeps it in the house :)
you could have a trowel engraved if her garden is very small and she doesn't need a spade.
there's a rose growing place in shropshire which sells millions of named roses for all occasions. they also have one which you can put your own name to. i'll see if i can find it and post the name of the place.

you could always think outside the box and give them something like this gardeners calendar which can be personalised with their name http:// www.per sonalis e.co.uk /person alised- gardeni ng-cale ndar , they can hang it up in a shed, conservatory or home.
