need a solution for these , i have a mono block driveway and have loads of weeds growing through , tried everything from weedol to bleach (bleach was best) but just had a word with someone who told me sodium chloride was brill but she doesn't think it is still available to sell :( any ideas on a substitute , i don't want to lift monoblock and redo , was here when i moved in .
I used to buy small pots of sodium chlorate from Wilko (it had to be diluted down with water) but it doesn't seem to be available these days. I would be interested to know where it can be purchased too.
There are residual weedkillers available, but I prefer to use Roundup. One of our sites has 5 car parks totalling over 6000sq m of block paving and a monthly walk spot zapping does the trick.
What they meant was sodium chlorATE (not IDE - which is common table salt).
Last time I looked, sodium chlorate based herbicides were still available.
The reason they stopped selling it is because it can easily be used to make explosives.
(Shame really, it also makes spectacular rockets!)
It is now sold with a fire retardent added afaik.
