My oven door has just smashed !

I turned the oven on and about 5 minutes if that later the whole outer door smashed and fell all on the kitchen floor - what shoud I do - contact Hotpoint the makers or waht ? It wasnt even hot. Good job I had no toddler running around underneath - any help - thanks

I'd suggest you sweep it up first.....

then it depends on the age of the cooker, if it's still under its "official" grantee then contact the seller.... if it's under about 5 years old you may have a case to contact the manufacturers and claim it has not lasted a reasonable amount of time under normal use.

if it's older... or the manufacturers won't help then you buy a new glass if available and get it fitted, if the glass isn't available separate then it's new door time.

My oven door smashed twice, I was putting it in the wrong way round after taking it out to clean it

Happened to me a few years ago. I paid £125 for a new door to be fitted but it was never the same. I regretted spending the cash in the end.
