Vodafone are planning to erect a mobile phone base station very near to our house.Notice reads- Installation of a 7 metre lightweight stub mast with 6 antennas, 1 no. 330mm dish, 1no. 600mm dish and ancillary development on roof of building. We have young children and I had heard that these can be dangerous. We received a notification about receipt of planning application from our local council and they are asking for our views on this development proposal before they make a decision. Is there anyone on AB who has had any experience on this matter and could help. Thank You in advance.

Our community has recently successfully appealed against the siting of a telecomms (mobile phone) mast and the report stated that as the health risks are NOT (yet) proved, this part of the appeal failed. The only point which they considered was whether the mast was "detrimental to the visual amenity" of the area, meaning that it was an eyesore. They judged it was and the planning permission was refused on those grounds alone, despite our longterm fears for or childrens' health.
