Installing new oven

Might be a simple, straightforward question but not to me!

We've currently got one of those integrated ovens, both hob and oven is gas. I've been looking to replace - would it be ok to replace gas oven for electric? And is it a fairly simple thing for an engineer to cut off that gas supply?

I've been looking at places like currys, comet, who provide an installation service but don't want to be caught out on 'details'

Yes .. easy.
But consider the location and how easy it would be to run a new large cable from the fusebaord .. because that i possibly what it would need.

Has it always been there, has it always been gas?

There might be an existing cooker circuit.

Ive ordered a new oven, pretty much like for like (gas and integrated)

Just wanted a rough idea of how long it should take a gas engineer to disconnect and remove current appliance, and then install new?

thanks doc, are we talking a couple of hours, or an all day job? nothing worse than being stuck indoors all day, making cups of tea and stupid chit chat with them!
