I have recently had a morso stove fitted. The glass door gets dirty very quickly.
What is the easiest way to clean the door please?

If you clean it regularly, a damp cloth should do it.  Howeverm if the soot gets baked on, a brillo pad works well. I know from our own Hunter stove that it is difficult to avoid the blackening occuring on the glass, especially if you are burning wood.  Try to set the fire as far back from the door as possible.

Thanks.
The 'airwash system' is supposed to keep glass clean, but woods burns too fast then.
Stove used 3 times since fitted and i cleaned with clean water this am, managed to get most of soot off.
try not to use abrasives as the glass will scratch.a piece of cloth with vinegar on and good old "elbow grease"will bring it up sparkling.
You can get a proprietary glass cleaner specifically for wood-burner door glass - try yellow pages for your nearest stove retailer - also make sure your logs are really dry and seasoned - ideally 2 to 3 years old. Also avoid burning pinewood. Its the tars in the wood that discolour the glass. Also logs that still have moisture in them will lead to ash caking in the chimney, causing problems a bit later on. We find ash or beech are the best logs if you can get them.

Have had open fires all my life - didn't think a stove would be so much of a pain - at least the room generally is cleaner!

Stovax Glass Cleaner. It really does work!

Leave for 20 minutes on a cold surface or 10 minutes on a warm surface. Wipe of with a damp cloth.

Yeah! Stovax, that was the one. Thanks for reminding me heatherglen. great stuff. Bit on the caustic side tho', suggest you wear rubber gloves, moo, but it really does what it says on the tin (bottle). Make sure you use plenty of water to rinse it all away.

Hi the trade uses Calfire cleaning products, they are better than stovax and normally cheaper. the one you need is Calfire Spareline Glass Cleaner it's a quality product formulated to remove the toughest tar, soot and creasote stains from stove window glass.
Any good fireplace shop should get it for you, but if you get any problems, contact me and I'll order you a bottle,or for any other stove parts http://www.architectural-antiques.info/woodbur ner-stove-spares.html
Regards Dave.
oven cleaner. I have used 2 brands so far. I dont know a techy reason not to. It was also great to clean the brickwork of the fireplace before fitting the stove.
Oven Cleaner. I have used 2 brands so far. I dont know of a techy reason not to. I used it to clean the fireplace brickwork twice before fitting the stove and it is almost the same red brick colour in the hole as the front of the ireplace.
