..but i hoped someone might be on today, who could answer my question. Come on guys - AB has never let me down so far!
I was told that my detached bungalow was a 'devon 4' when we bought it, as it is a group of four bungalows set in a little square, with none adjacent or facing each other (can't really describe what I mean!)
Now, a friend is looking to buy a proerty around the corner from me on another street, and they told her it's a devon 4. But it has a dorma and is semi-detached. So I would really like to know - what is a devon 4 then?

Devon is notorious for mis-hearings. I guess anywhere with a strong accent coupled with dialect is liable to be.
I knew of a chap who, after being told how to lay patio slabs, went around every builders merchant he could find to try and get some "beddemin" sand. No one had heard of it until someone figured out he'd been told to ....... "bed them in" sand ;o)

lol - how funny you all are :)
I am not in devon, i'm in blackpool!
All the streets are named after places in the lakes and my house was built in the sixties.
I had heard the term before I bought this house, and assumed my agent was correct. It was only when my friend was told her dorma (with 4 bedrooms ) was one, that it got me thinking.
never mind. Thanks though x
