Bedroom 'Most Important In House For One-In-Four'
An Englishman’s home is his castle they say. Well it seems that in that castle many of us think one of the rooms we spend the least amount of time in is the most important.
A quarter of people in Britain consider the bedroom to be the most important room in their house, according to new research.
Findings from a leading high street bank show that 1.6 million people have spent over £5,000 making their nocturnal dwelling to their liking.
Those who value their rooms should take out home insurance cover to make sure all is not lost if they were to suffer an accident or break-in, the firm said.
Indeed, the company added that the average bedroom now has contents worth more than £4,000.
"With over a million people valuing the contents of their bedroom alone in excess of £10,000 it is vitally important that people check their insurance policy to ensure they are covered," said head of insurance marketing at the firm.
There are many ways to make the most of your bedroom. One of the most popular is to look into Feng Shui.
Top tips to make your bedroom a more attractive place:
• Clutter - The first step is to get rid of clutter. Apparently it literally holds the energy in the home to become stagnant and unbeneficial. Do not store anything under the bed. Many of us have too much stuff that we never use and it should be cleared out and given to charity.
• Distractions - The most common distraction in the bedroom is the television. Televisions create energy that works against rest. They can also cause problems between couples by creating a power struggle, fighting over who decides what to watch.
• Imagery - Artwork and other visual images in the bedroom should encourage love, harmony and romance. Images of couples and pairs, and anything that signifies romance to you personally work well. Pictures of your children do not belong in the bedroom.
