What exactly is 'tent stitch' and how do you do it! I believe its something like a 1/2 cross stitch but I'm not sure.

It is half cross stitch, but it looks different on the back. Instead of the stitches being vertical, they slant over two holes.

It's easier to see on these diagrams.

You need to copy the link and take out the
from the end.

Bah, when will they fix this?

Until they do fix it, try this.

When you are posting a link, put a space after the address, before you press Return. This stops the gremlins from pasting a
 on. It works for me.

According to my book, tent stitch is the same as half cross stitch. The one with a longer stitch on the back is continental stitch which wears better but uses more wool.

So just use whichever one you're happier with!
