I have a large-ish Weber kettle barbie. we hardly use it as it seems like a bit of a faff for just me and the kids (we don't eat lots of meat in one sitting, either). when I've done a large scale "do" some bloke always steps in with a very macho "you sit down, I'll do this!"

so, I'm never sure what kind of coals to use, what's too much (apparently I use too much), how to avoid semi-burning food (v unhealthy).. and now my 17 yr old daughter would like to throw a barbie for her mates.

does anyone have an idiot's guide, or top tips? thank you :o)

My party piece at BBQs used to be to fry an egg. I didn't get invited to very many.

Glad you think so Sara, unfortunately the the answer I usually get from the boss is "you know were the drinks are and if you don't like the way I've cooked your steak do it your self"
