Log in problems

Suddenly I am unable to log into websites where I have accounts ie this one (when I enter my email address and password the grey text in the boxes remains) and Facebook (I can enter log in details but when I click to log in all I get is an egg timer and a white screen - exactly the same happens when trying to log in to email accounts and online banking etc One website suggested I clear the cookies, cache and history via Internet Options, which I did, but nothing changed. The only thing I have done to laptop recently is run Piriforms CC Cleaner and Defraggler which I do every two weeks - this always means I have to type log in details afresh where it was previously stored but has never caused this issue before How can I fix it? I can access all my accounts on my BlackBerry so its not the websites themselves or my logins etc Help!! TIA

You don't say which browser you are using, but have you checked that you have cookies turned on? Perhaps after you cleared the history, you inadvertantly adjusted your settings.

Hi Mungbeenz Its internet explorer 8 I believe How do I turn the cookies on?

Open Internet explorer, then click Tools > Internet Options at the bottom. Then click the Privacy tab. This will show you a sliding scale and will tell you if cookies are enabled. If they aren't then set them to 'Medium'.
