caving clubs expect you too

do caving clubs expect you to meet at the place your going to descend on that day or do you meet at the clubs mian base and there take you there i cant find anything on this

It will probably depend on where the cave is, who is going, how many, who has transport etc etc etc.

most don't have a phone number e-mail only then there don't answer it then you have to wait for the appropriate person to contact you done it 3 time before try to join got no sense.

I thought To get in caves you had to just pay on the way in and then get shown around by the tour guide along with the other customers that had also turned up that time as they do the tour every hour or so like at Castleton Edale at the Blue John cavens. I guess If It's a club You will need to know the number and ring the club then ask to join and They would then give you a trial period to join in with them and they decide if they like you in there club or not. They would ask for your postal details and send you the dates of the meetings and where to meet and when. If You say you have already emailed them 3 times with no response, Maybe It's an old club thats folded up and the email no longer gets looked at or maybe They are full and don't wish to have any new members or Maybe they have got a new email address and no longer use the one you have. I have many email addresses over the years I'v had the internet and don't look at them all. Try going to a cave and asking the people who run it if they have any info on joining a club as they must know regular clubs who visit them.

Suna, my point is that there is not going to be any rules about this, one club may expect you to meet at the cave, another might expect you to meet elsewhere and provide transport. Even an individual club might operate in different ways for each individual trip!

The only way to find out is to call the club you are interested in and ask about the specific trip you are interested in.

if they don't answer their emails, perhaps you could find a better organised club? I'm not sure I'd want to go spelunking with disorganised people.

Turn up at one of the cave meets and then you can ask what they generally do.
Even if its an organised club visit , whats to stop you making your own way there ?

i'd be amazed if they all go together as they must live all over the place and for some its bound to be more convenient to meet there.

And as has been mentiond if they dont reply they dont sound much good if they even still exist
